Gorilla Theater V

WHAT: a 32-hour blank-paper-to-live-show theater festival!

WHEN: Writers begin at 10am Friday, May 26; the shows go up at 7pm on Saturday, May 27

WHERE: Taos Mesa Brewing (www.taosmesabrewing.com)

TELL ME MORE: Local writers. Local actors. Local beer. The Gorilla Theater Festival is turning five this year and we’re ready to celebrate!

HOW DOES IT WORK? Writers are randomly assigned casts, props, and prompts at 9am Friday; actors receive brand-new scenes (3 – 5 minutes) or short one-acts (8 – 10 minutes) at 11am Saturday, and spend the day at Taos Mesa Brewing memorizing, blocking, and rehearsing. On Saturday night, the whole thing hits the stage in front of a live audience!

Performances will take place on Saturday, May 27th at 7:00 pm at Taos Mesa Brewing.

WHAT DO I GET OUT OF IT? All participants will receive a super awesome Gorilla V t-shirt designed by the amazing Sarah Hart! Also, the joy of creating brand-new, piping-hot theater with other regional artists is pretty sweet.

Sign up below to be emailed official rules. PLEASE NOTE: This festival is predicated upon everyone showing up FULLY, and ON TIME, for their committed slot — writers, to complete a script within the first 24 hours, and actors, to be available ALL DAY Saturday. Please understand that after Wednesday, May 24, we will expect everyone to be fully committed.

Please tell your friends, near and far!
