WHAT: a 32-hour, start-to-finish, blank-paper-to-live-show theater festival.
WHEN: June 7, 2014
WHERE: Taos Mesa Brewing (www.taosmesabrewing.com)
TELL ME MORE: Local writers. Local actors. Local beer. It’s the second annual Gorilla Theater Festival, bigger and better than before. Here’s how it works — it’s a simple three-step process:
- Writers are randomly assigned casts, props, and prompts at 11am Friday;
- Actors receive brand-new scenes (3 – 4 minutes) or short one-acts (10 – 12 minutes) at 11am Saturday, and spend the day at Taos Mesa Brewing memorizing, blocking, and rehearsing.
- At 7pm Saturday night, the whole thing hits the stage!
Performances will take place on Saturday, June 7th at 7:00 pm at Taos Mesa Brewing.
Q: Do I need to have any playwrighting or acting experience to participate?
A: Absolutely not. Gorilla Theater is all about fostering new creative experiences, and we love newcomers to either craft. If you want extra support in advance as either a writer or an actor, we’re here for you!
